According to customs statistics, in the first half of 2022, the total value of bilateral trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries (hereinafter referred to as Central and Eastern Europe) was 445.06 billion yuan, an increase of 9.2% over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, the export to Central and Eastern Europe was 340.64 billion yuan, an increase of 15.4%; the import from Central and Eastern Europe was 104.42 billion yuan, a decrease of 7.1%.
The main features of bilateral trade between China and Central and Eastern Europe in the first half of 2022 are as follows:
(1) Mainly export mechanical and electrical products and labor-intensive products.
In the first half of 2022, China’s exports of mechanical and electrical products to Central and Eastern Europe amounted to 231.17 billion yuan, an increase of 9.5%, accounting for 67.9% of the total value of my exports to Central and Eastern Europe (the same below) during the same period. Among them, electrical equipment was 27.92 billion yuan, an increase of 23.3%; automatic data processing equipment and its components were 25.32 billion yuan, a decrease of 4.2%. In the same period, the export of labor-intensive products was 57.72 billion yuan, an increase of 25.7%, accounting for 16.9%. Among them, clothing and clothing accessories were 18.94 billion yuan, an increase of 42.5%; textile yarns, fabrics and their products were 11.16 billion yuan, an increase of 19.7%. In addition, the export of agricultural products was 3.84 billion yuan, an increase of 72%; the export of food was 1.87 billion yuan, an increase of 21%.
(2) Mainly import mechanical and electrical products, metal ore and copper materials, etc.
In the first half of 2022, China imported 74.18 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products from Central and Eastern Europe, down 8.9%, accounting for 71% of the total value of my imports from Central and Eastern Europe (the same below) during the same period. Among them, passenger cars were 21.63 billion yuan, the same as the same period last year; auto parts were 14.28 billion yuan, down 21.8%. During the same period, the imported metal ores and ore sand were 5.05 billion yuan, an increase of 119.2%; the unwrought copper and copper products were 4.69 billion yuan, a decrease of 32.7%. In addition, imported agricultural products were 2.21 billion yuan, down 7.9%; imported food was 1.53 billion yuan, down 16.1%.
(3) Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary are the top three trading partners.
In the first half of 2022, China's imports and exports to Poland, the Czech Republic, and Hungary were 135.74 billion yuan, 71.56 billion yuan, and 47.9 billion yuan, up 7.4%, 7.3%, and 2.9%, respectively, accounting for the total value of China's imports and exports to Central and Eastern Europe during the same period. 30.5%, 16.1%, 10.8%.
